Popcorn (Greek). Popcorn is corn that has been puffed after being heated. Corn is able to burst because, unlike other cereals, its kernels have a husk that protects it from moisture and has a thick starchy filling. This allows the pressure to gradually increase inside until it finally “pops”. Now, some corn stalks are grown exclusively for use in making popcorn.
They open easily and quickly during baking and keep you company at every movie and party.
